Cable stock jumps 9% after securing order worth ₹244 Cr from Kaushal Engineering

Synopsis: JD Cables has recently announced that it has been awarded a contract for construction related works connected to a national highway project in Jharkhand, providing long term revenue supply equal to the company’s marketcap. 

The shares of this micro cap company, which is engaged in manufacturing wide range of cables and conductors used in power transmission and distribution, were in focus after securing work order worth more than its market capitalization.

With the market capitalization of Rs. 460, the shares of JD cables has reached an intraday high of Rs. 218, jumped  9 percent from its previous day close of Rs. 199.5 per equity share after securing the work order. 

What is the NEWS

JD Cables has recently announced that it has received a work order worth Rs. 243.9 Crores from Kaushal Engineering Limited for construction related works connected to a national highway project in Jharkhand. The company has been given responsibility to complete the balance works of Chauparan Flyover, Barkatha Flyover, Railway over bridges and electrical related projects in six-laning of National Highway-2 (NH-2). 

The project will cover Bihar-Jharkand Border Stretch specifically from Chordaha to Gorhar Section from Km 249.5 to Km 320.8. The project falls under NHDP Phase V which will be completed within 1 Year from the date of the work contract. 

About the Company and Financials

JD Cables Limited is majorly engaged in manufacturing of a comprehensive range of wires, cables and conductors, indicating Power Cables, Control Cables, Aerial Branched Cables and many more which are used in power transmission and distribution networks. The company is an approved vendor for multiple state electricity boards and has a strong supply footprint across Assam, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc. 

As on September 30, 2025 JD Cables has maintained a strong order book of Rs. 286 crores and acquired a new industrial facility at Dankuni to scale its manufacturing capacity.. With its presence in over 12 states, the company has two product segments and 2 manufacturing units with  an installed capacity of 6000 Kms for Unit I and 22,000 Kms for Unit II. Cables and wires are the majority revenue contributors for the company genearting 80.68 percent of the total whereas aluminium conductors contributed 19.31 percent. 

Year on Year analysis: Revenue from operations has increased from Rs. 107 Crores to Rs. 121 Crores, up 13 percent. Operating profit has increased from Rs. 15 Crores to Rs. 19 Crores, up 26.6  percent and net profit has increased from Rs. 10 Crores to 12 Crores, up 20 percent . 

Half Yearly analysis: Revenue from operations has decreased on a half yearly basis from Rs. 143 Crores to Rs. 121 Crores, down 15  percent. Operating profit and Net profit remained unchanged at Rs. 19 Crores and 12 Crores respectively.
