Synopsis: G M Breweries reported a strong Q1 FY27 performance with revenue from operations rising 26 percent year-on-year to Rs. 802.90 crore, while profit after tax surged 46 percent to Rs. 37.74 crore. Growth was supported by higher liquor sales, improved operating efficiency, and healthy demand in its core country liquor business.

Shares of G M Breweries Limited are likely to remain in focus after the company reported a healthy set of financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company delivered strong growth in both revenue and profitability, driven by robust demand for its products and improved operating performance despite operating in a highly regulated alcoholic beverages industry.

G M Breweries Limited has a total market capitalization of approximately Rs. 2,223.35 crore. The company’s shares were trading at Rs. 974 apiece on the stock exchange, 1.49 percent up by. The stock has gained 8.92 percent over the last month. It touched a 52-week high of Rs. 1329 and a 52-week low of Rs. 666.

G M Breweries reported revenue from operations of Rs. 802.90 crore during Q1 FY27 compared to Rs. 638.01 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a growth of around 25.8 percent year-on-year. Total income also increased to Rs. 808.45 crore from Rs. 643.14 crore, reflecting healthy demand across the company’s product portfolio.

On the profitability front, the company reported profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 37.74 crore in Q1 FY27 compared to Rs. 25.86 crore in Q1 FY26, reflecting a growth of nearly 46 percent year-on-year. Profit before tax (PBT) also increased to Rs. 50.43 crore from Rs. 34.56 crore in the year-ago period, while earnings per share (EPS) improved to Rs. 16.52 from Rs. 11.32.

The strong quarterly performance was primarily driven by higher sales volumes across the company’s country liquor portfolio, which continues to remain its core business. Rising consumer demand, an established distribution network across Maharashtra, and efficient execution helped the company deliver healthy revenue growth while maintaining profitability despite higher operating costs.

During the quarter, total expenses increased to Rs. 758.02 crore from Rs. 608.58 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, mainly due to higher raw material costs, manufacturing expenses, employee costs, and other operational expenditures associated with increased sales volumes. However, revenue growth outpaced the rise in expenses, enabling the company to improve its operating leverage and deliver stronger earnings growth.

Apart from its core liquor business, the company also incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary during the quarter to explore opportunities in the real estate sector. The subsidiary was incorporated with an initial investment of Rs. 1 lakh and has not yet commenced business operations. While the financial impact is currently negligible, the move reflects the company’s intent to diversify into adjacent business opportunities over the long term.

The liquor industry continues to benefit from rising disposable incomes, urbanization, and steady demand for alcoholic beverages across several states. Country liquor remains a significant volume segment in India due to its affordability and large consumer base. Companies with strong brands, efficient manufacturing capabilities, and extensive distribution networks are well positioned to capitalize on stable demand while benefiting from operating leverage as volumes grow.

Going forward, sustained consumer demand, effective cost management, stable raw material prices, and supportive regulatory policies in key markets will remain important drivers for G M Breweries’ performance. The company’s consistent focus on its core business, healthy profitability, and strong cash generation position it well to deliver stable earnings over the medium to long term.

Incorporated in 1981, G M Breweries Limited manufactures and markets alcoholic beverages, primarily Country Liquor (CL) and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). The company has established a strong presence in Maharashtra through its extensive manufacturing and distribution network, catering to a broad consumer base in the value liquor segment.
