Defence stock hits 5% upper circuit after partnering with Indrajaal Drone Defence

Synopsis: Shares hit the 5% upper circuit after announcing a ₹250 crore strategic defence partnership. The deal ensures the exclusive supply of radar and electronic warfare subsystems for counter-drone platforms. With a market cap of ₹1,310 crore, the development strengthens its IP-led positioning and global defence market access.

The shares of the prominent defence and aerospace solutions provider hit a 5 percent upper circuit in today’s trading session after the company entered into a long-term strategic partnership to supply the core radar and electronic warfare subsystems.

With a market capitalization of Rs 1,310.16 crore, the shares of Megasoft Ltd were trading at Rs 177.60 per share, increasing around 4.41 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 172.35 apiece.

Partnership Agreement

The share of Sigma Advanced Systems (Megasoft Ltd) has seen bullish movement after entering into a long-term strategic partnership with Indrajaal Drone Defence to supply core radar and electronic warfare subsystems for its counter-drone platforms. The tie-up is expected to generate around ₹250 crore in first-year contracts and ensures exclusive supply of mission-critical systems. Leveraging Sigma’s European presence, the partnership also opens access to EU and NATO defence markets.

Furthermore, this partnership formalises a clear division of roles, with Sigma continuing to design and manufacture advanced radar and electronic warfare subsystems, while Indrajaal focuses on integrating and deploying counter-drone platforms. As one of the few Indian firms with defence-grade radar and jamming capabilities, Sigma brings deep expertise and scalable infrastructure, enabling reliable, indigenous and rapidly deployable solutions.

Additionally, for Sigma Advanced Systems, this marks a strategic move toward IP-led, high-value defence technologies rather than pure-play manufacturing. As counter-drone solutions become critical for safeguarding military and strategic assets, the real differentiation lies in advanced radar, sensing, and electronic warfare layers—areas where Sigma aims to anchor long-term growth and technological leadership.

Commenting on the partnership, Sunil Kalidindi, CEO of Sigma Advanced Systems, said, “What we are bringing to this partnership is not just manufacturing capability. Sigma has spent years developing radars and electronic warfare technologies that make counter-drone systems effective on the battlefield. We own the manufacturing IP, we continue to invest in it, and Indrajaal is integrating those capabilities into its battle-proven platforms. This is a technology-led partnership.”

Kiran Raju, Co-Founder and CEO of Indrajaal, added, “Counter-drone systems are only as strong as the sensors and electronic warfare layers beneath them. Sigma’s ability to design and build Radars, Effectors, and Spoofers in-house is a critical advantage for us. Working with a partner that owns and continuously improves this technology gives us confidence as we scale deployments for defence and critical infrastructure.”
