M&M Shares Jump 3% After EV Segment Volumes Increase in February

Synopsis: The company reported a healthy increase in vehicle production and sales during February 2026 compared with the same month last year. Growth was mainly supported by strong demand in the utility vehicle segment and a steady rise in electric vehicle volumes.Ā 

The shares of this auto company, majorly engaged in manufacturing 2 wheelers, passenger Vehicle, Commercial Vehicle and tractors, jumped upto 3 percent after releasing its February business updates.

With the market capitalization of Rs. 4,06,261 Crores, the shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, reached an intraday high of Rs. 3,278 per share raising nearly 3 percent from its previous day close of Rs. 3,187.60 per share and is trading at a P/E of 25.4 whereas industry P/E stands at 29.1Ā 

News

During February 2026, the company produced 94,550 vehicles, up about 13 percentĀ  from 83,575 vehicles produced in February 2025. Total sales stood at 96,718 units, showing a strong 18percentĀ  rise from 81,870 units last year. Exports also increased to 3,477 units from 3,120 units, a growth of around 11 percent .

Ā In the utility vehicle segment, models such as Scorpio Diesel saw strong traction, with production rising to 14,819 units from 12,669 units, up about 17 percent . The electric vehicle segment also showed strong growth, as production of the Electric Origin SUV increased to 4,547 units from 3,077 units, a rise of nearly 48 percent , reflecting growing demand for electric mobility.Ā 

Financials

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd is majorly engaged in manufacturing two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and tractors. The company also has presence in logistics, hospitality and real estate through its group businesses.

The company’s auto volumes in Q3 saw strong growth, with SUV sales rising by 26 percent and LCV sales increasing by 20 percent, reflecting steady demand across segments. In the truck and bus segment, its market share stood at 4.9 percent in Q3 FY26, improving by 0.6 percentage points from 4.3 percent earlier.

In the farming segment, the company continues to maintain a strong position with a market share of around 44 percent. Margins in the core tractor business stood at 21.2 percent in Q3 FY26.

Year on Year analysis: Revenue from operations has increased from Rs. 41,470 Crores to Rs. 52,100 Crores, up 25 percent. Operating profit has increased from Rs. 8231 Crores to Rs. 10160 Crores, up 23.4 percent. Net-profit has increased from Rs. 3,624 Crores to Rs. 5,021 Crores, up 38.5Ā  percentĀ 

Quarter on Quarter Analysis: Revenue from operations has increased from Rs. 46,106 Crores to Rs. 52,100 Crores, up 13 percent. Operating profit has increased from Rs. 8,940 Crores to Rs. 10,160 Crores, up 13.6 percent. Net-profit has increased from Rs. 3,964 Crores to Rs. 5,021 Crores, up 26.6 percentĀ
