Power Stock in Focus After Commissioning Additional BESS in Rajasthan to Expand Its Business

Synopsis: ACME Solar has expanded its energy storage capacity by commissioning new battery projects, marking steady progress in its broader growth plans. This move strengthens its position in the energy storage space and supports future scalability.

The shares of this renewable companyĀ  majorly engaged in power generation which operates across multiple renewable technologies such as solar, wind and many more were in focus afterĀ  expanding its energy storage capacity

With the market capitalization of Rs. 14,455 Crores, the shares of ACME solar holdings were trading at around Rs. 239 per share which is 29.3 percent discount from its 52 weeks high of Rs. 324 per share and is trading at a P/E of 28.8 per share whereas industry P/E stands at 27.8Ā 

About the Expansion

ACME Solar has commissioned additional Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a capacity of 155 MW / 470.25 MWh in Rajasthan. The company has now commissioned a total BESS capacity of 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh. The company had planned to commission a BESS capacity of 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh, and thus it is clear that a larger part of the BESS projects is yet to be commissioned by the company.

The projects have been connected to the existing Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) so that the distributed electricity can be utilized effectively in the regions. The projects will be run on a merchant basis, and the company will generate revenues by making use of the price difference between peak and non-peak hours.

The battery systems have been implemented with the aim of making the best use of the generated power by storing the excess generated power during low-demand periods and making use of the same during high-demand periods. This will help in maintaining the balance between the generated power and the demanded power.

About the Company and Financials

ACME Solar Holdings Limited majorly engaged in power generation which operates across multiple renewable technologies such as solar, wind and hybrid energy systems. The company has signed PPA’s of 450MW during Q3 till the end of January and YTD PPAs signed stands at 1050 MW and 550 MWh and made a Capex of Rs. 8200 Crores in 9M FY26. The company stated in its Q3 presentation that it has partially commissioned 72 MW out of a 100MW wind project taking the YTD commissioned capacity to 442 MW. It has also won a 130 MW round the clock project with REMC Limited.Ā 

Year on Year analysis: Revenue from Operations has increased from Rs. 349 Crores to Rs. 497 Crores, up 42 percent. Operating profit has increased from Rs. 307 Crores to Rs. 444 Crores, up 44.6 percent and net profit has increased from Rs. 112 Crores to Rs. 114 Crores, up 1.7 percentĀ 

Quarter on Quarter analysis: Revenue from operations has increased from Rs. 468 Crores to Rs. 498 Crores, up 6.4 percent. Operating profit has increased from Rs. 400 Crores to Rs. 444 Crores, up 11 percent and net profit has decreased from Rs. 115 Crores to Rs. 114 Crores, down 0.8 percentĀ
