₹110 Cr Order: Defence stock in focus after receiving supply order from Ministry of Defence

Synopsis: The company’s share came in focus after the company announced receipt of an order worth Rs.110 crore from the Minsitry of Defence.

The shares of the company that manufactures a wide range of heavy earthmoving equipment catering to the mining and construction industry, vehicles for defence forces and coaches for the metro and Indian Railways, in focus after reporting receipt of supply order from Ministry of Defence.

With the market capitalization of Rs. 14,200.77 crore, BEML Ltd’s share on Tuesday made a day high of Rs. 1,742.60 per share, up by 0.34 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 1,742 per share. It has delivered a return of  271.20 percent over a period of five years.

Significant Order 

BEML ltd engaged in manufacturing a wide range of heavy earthmoving equipment has received an order worth Rs. 110 crore approximately from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of Engines, in its normal course of business.

This will add to its H1 FY26 order book of Rs. 16,342 crore, highest ever recorded. With business verticals and their contribution:  40 percent of revenue from Defence & Aerospace, 43 percent revenue from Mining & Construction and 17 percent from Rail & Metro. 

About the company

Beml is engaged in the manufacturing and supply of a wide range of heavy earthmoving equipment catering to the mining and construction industry, vehicles for defense forces and coaches for the metro and Indian Railways.

The company has exported more than 1400 equipment over 73 countries consisting of products from defence, mining & corporation and railway. With major achievement in production of 9400 plus High mobility vehicles, 18,000 plus coaches & EMUs in rail & metro and 33,880 mining and construction equipment.

BEML recently achieved several key milestones, including designing, developing and supplying a 550 hp motor grader to SECL and inducting the BEML‑engineered MMME Mk‑II into the Indian Army. It has commenced manufacturing high‑speed rail components at its Bangalore complex and started assembly of the Light Armoured Multipurpose Vehicle (LAMV) at Kolar Gold Fields.

Financial highlights, revenue from operations declined by 2 percent to Rs.839 crore in Q2 FY26 from Rs. 860 crore in Q2 FY25. EBDIT stayed stagnant to Rs.73.2 crore in Q2 FY26 from Rs.73 crore in Q2 FY25. Net profit declined 6% YoY to Rs. 48 crore in Q2 FY26, while EPS fell 6% YoY to Rs. 5.77 per share.
