Synopsis: Supreme Power Equipment bags Rs 13.50 Cr transformer contract from Maharashtra EPC its first in the state. Stock up 1.34%; 20 MVA 110/33kV units due in 7 months. Will western India fuel more growth?
The Company has landed a significant new order. The Chennai-based transformer maker secured a Rs 13.50 crore contract from an EPC company based in Maharashtra. Moreover, this marks the company’s first-ever order from the state a milestone it has been working toward as part of its national expansion plan.
Supreme Power Equipment’s Limited’s stock, with a market capitalisation of Rs. 3,703 crores, rose Rs. 185, up 1.34 percent from its previous closing price of Rs. 182.55. Furthermore, the stock over the past year has given a return of 81 percent.
Maharashtra is one of India’s most industrially active states. Winning a project there puts SPEL on the map in a region it had not tapped before. The company sees this entry as a gateway to broader opportunities across western India. Essentially, it is not just one order it is a door opening to a new market.
The contract involves the supply of 20 MVA, 110/33–11 kV power transformers. These are high-capacity units used in power transmission and distribution networks. Furthermore, these transformers handle large volumes of electricity across long distances. The project will be executed within approximately seven months, showing that SPEL can deliver technically demanding work on schedule.
This order adds to a growing list of projects across India. As a result, SPEL continues to diversify its order book both by geography and by client type. The company manufactures a wide range of transformers, including power, solar, windmill, and distribution variants. Each new order, therefore, strengthens its position as a reliable player in India’s power infrastructure sector.
