Why did Solarium Green shares jump 18% today?

Synopsis: Solar Energy stock  gained strong market attention after securing a major solar project order, which has improved investor confidence in the company’s growth prospects and strengthened optimism around its renewable energy business.

The shares of this micro-cap company, majorly engaged in providing integrated solar solutions and turnkey services, jumped over 18 percent upon receiving a letter of intent to provide end-to-end EPC works for a new project.

With the market capitalization Rs. 321 Crores, the shares of Solarium Green Energy Ltd reached an intraday high of Rs. 172.95 per share which is over 18 percent increase from its previous day close of Rs. 145.65 per share and is trading at a P/E of  15.8 where as industry P/E stands at 15.2 

What is the NEWS: 

Solarium Green Energy has seen a significant rise in its stock price after it was announced that the company has received a Letter of Award (LOA), from the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO), for the execution of end-to-end Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) works for a 50 MWac Solar PV Power Project in Maharashtra. 

This order has a total order value of ~Rs. 188.525 crore, and the order is not just for the execution of the project, but it also involves the provision of 3 years of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services. This order shows continued belief in the company by PSU based on its timely execution and capabilities.

About the company and financials: 

Solarium Green Energy Ltd. is a solar energy provider with a footprint in 15+ States and Union Territories. They offer end-to-end integrated solar solutions. Their customer offerings cover the residential, industrial, and commercial sectors, as well as the government. They specialize in rooftop, ground-mounted, solar tree, solar wind hybrid, carport, and energy storage solutions.

The company’s unexecuted orderbook, stood at Rs. 229 crore as on H1 FY26. This gives a clear idea of the revenue growth prospects and also reflects the robust pipeline of projects in the renewable energy segment.

Year on Year analysis: Revenue from operations has increased from Rs. 82 Crores to Rs. 117 Crores, up 42.6 percent. Operating profit has increased from Rs. 12 Crores to Rs. 13 Crores, up 8.33 percent and net profit has increased from Rs. 8 Crores to Rs. 9 Crores, up 12.5 percent 

Half yearly analysis : Revenue from operations has decreased from Rs. 148 crores to Rs. 117 Crores, down 21 percent. Operating profit has decreased from Rs. 14 Crores to Rs. 13 Crores, down 7 percent and net profit has decreased from Rs. 11 Crores to Rs. 9 Crores, down 18 percent
